We have two grilltenders and we use them whenever we have hot food to keep warm; they are lovely on the table and make an elegant conversation piece as well as doing a great job of keeping whatever we choose warm. We grilled game hens the other night and put them under the grilltender. While we had our salad, they waited on the table and when uncovered, they were piping hot, too hot to touch yet after 30 minutes. The resting makes the meat more tender and we are delighted to find a lovely way to make a great meal even better. WE would not be without them. We do use foil just to keep the gril tender clean; but we have washed one of them and it looks great.

I bought these gloves for use with my outdoor barbecue. I cook with a wood fire, so temps can easily get over 600 degrees in the firebox. These leather gloves protect my hands very well in tending the fire [adding wood, stirring, poking, etc]. With these gloves I can easily reach into the firebox to reposition a piece of wood without any danger of burning my skin. They are also great for adjusting the draft vent on the side of the firebox. After having a similar pair [high profile name in barbecue] of these indefinitely backordered last summer [which I then canceled the order], these gloves are perfect for any backyard barbecue chef who is cooking with any type of slow cook oven or pit. I cook with a Char Griller Pro. These gloves are thick, lined, and up to the task of slow cook, hours long fires in the barbecue of ribs, chicken, brisket etc. I highly recommend them! I have another pair which I use for my home fireplace in the winter. This is a quality product for a great price! I have never had a blistered finger or singed hair with these.

I bought this feeling a little blind--there were no reviews and the product information didn't indicate how big the finished product is. I've used the mini-donut maker Smart Planet MCM-1 Mini Cupcake Maker before and read all the reviews for the corn dog maker Smart Planet CDM-1 Corn Dog Maker which helped me make my decision to purchase this product.
I've used it twice--the first time I used gluten free waffle batter, the second time I made gluten free corn bread some with diced up hot dogs. Each well holds 2-3 tablespoons of batter. If the wells aren't filled enough the tops don't brown. If they are filled too full the batter runs out and connects the wells, which wasn't a problem as the batter still cooks. Clean up was easy.
These make great little finger foods. I love that I don't have to heat up the oven to have nice baked goods.

Maybe garlic squoosher would be a better description--lay the mat on the counter, fold it over your garlic clove, and give it a whack. Then reveal your garlic clove, ready for hand-peeling, without a knife. I agree that this use pales in comparison with use as a jar opener (you'll throw those little rubber disks away), potholder, and counter protector.
However, because I often take my hot meal to the computer, on my lap, the best use I've found for these mats, which don't conduct heat, is as a layer under my dinner plate. You may use it either as a layer over another plate to prevent heat conduction (because the mat is tacky, there are no plate-sliding surprises) or directly on your lap.

It looks like a very small refrigerator.
Every piece of sheet metal is sanded on the edges, no cuts from sharp edges.
Easy to put together, no more difficult than putting together a refrigerator.
Quiet as a refrigerator too.
Read the instructions and season it first as directed.
You will need extra wood pellets. It does not come with any in the box, so order some extras. Each pellet lasts about 20 minutes.Bradley Apple Bisquettes 48 pack
NOTE: you have to put at least 4 pellets in the stacker to get it to burn 1 pellet. Just the way it works. I put in two pellets and nothing smoked. It needs 4 pellets to push the pellets along the tray to the burner. Not a problem, just try to remember that 3 of the pellets won't burn. So, if you want to cook for 4 hours you need: 3 pellets per hours x 4 hours = 12 pellets + 3 pellets to get them to burn plate = 15 pellets.
I tested a Butterball Turkey Breast first. I followed the Bradley instructions in their cookbook Bradley Recipe Book Volume 1 for the turkey cooking temperatures. I used their glaze recipe under the skin. I also used a wireless remote meat thermometer Oregon Scientific AW131 Grill Right Wireless Talking BBQ/Oven Thermometer feed the probe wire through the roof vent of the smoker. I used the apple pellets from Bradley Apple Bisquettes 120 pack
I sat back and waited. A few hour later the Oregon Scientific AW131 Grill Right Wireless Talking BBQ/Oven Thermometer began to chirp "almost done" "Almost done". The wireless thermometer is great because I was smoking the week of Thanksgiving and it was in the 30's outside so not having walk out to the smoker to check the meat was ideal. (My wife was concerned about the smoker being able to maintain cooking temperature in the cold outside. This smoker was stable, the temperature stayed steady. the outside of the unit did not get hot to the touch, except around the smoke vent which is to be expected.)
I used a Taylor Analog Instant-Read Dial Thermometer to verify the temperature of the meat when the wireless told me it was done. Both thermometers were within a degree of each other.
I took the turkey breast out of the smoker and let it rest for about an hour. The color was extremely golden skin. Not black or Smokey but as if was dipped in golden lacquer. A gorgeous turkey breast. No burnt places, not excess smoke, perfect. When I carved the Turkey breast it was as moist as a wet sponge. Unbelievably tasty, nothing like store bought smoked turkey. The taste of the turkey was like that of caviar compared to fish sticks, it was rich, smooth and wonderful.
This smoking robot works. Just add a Oregon Scientific AW131 Grill Right Wireless Talking BBQ/Oven Thermometer to you don't have to walk outside and let it do its job.
Also, we ran the smoker on our back porch, about 10 feet from the house. It only exhausts a small amount of smoke while working. It did not look like a fire at the, just a little smoke, less than the steam from a tea kettle. If you cheat and peak while it is cooking you will get your clothes smoked and have to change for dinner, but the smoke from the smoker did not get into the house otherwise.
Easy to setup, easy to control and easy to cook with. Oh, the trays are 11x15 so you could put a 12-14 pound turkey in it. Next is a Roast, Ribs and some Cheeses. The Bradley Recipe Book Volume 1 also includes recipes for cheese, fruit, and more. Just follow the instructions and be patient. It can do both hot and cold smoking.

This is one of the most innovative, amazing barbecue inventions in some time. The "old" skewers that everyone used, metal or wood, were hard to fit on the grill with the hot dogs, hamburgers and steaks. These flexible skewers are just that . . . flexible. If you find you are running out of space there always seems to be just enough to fit these in. These are stainless steel, won't rust, and are easy to pick up . . . no burnt fingers or wooden skewers falling apart when they start to burn.
One other plus is when you want to marinate. With the other straight skewers your meats and veggies had to be marinated separately and were a royal pain to put on the skewer with all the juices dribbling on the counter or in your hands. With these you fill your skewer and they just curl up in a bag or bowl. Next stop is the grill. No fuss, no muss. I'd recommend getting the package of six . . . if you do the math, the larger quantity is less expensive. If you have a long weekend or a large crowd, you'll be able to make shish kebobs ahead of time and just pull them from the fridge.
Here's a little marinade recipe for you to enjoy:
1/4 cup white OR brown sugar
½ cup soy sauce
1/3 cup canola oil
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
2 crushed garlic cloves
Dash ground ginger
This recipe is especially tasty with chicken chunks!

Ok. Pound for pound this is the ultimate smoker for the price. I've been smoking (food) for the past 17 years and the Brinkmann has never failed to produce! The only problem I've had with it was getting a 24 pound Thanksgiving Turkey out without it falling apart and me burning myself. To tell you the truth I forgot how I managed to get the Turkey out but everyone raved over it's flavor! Filled the water pan with wine instead of water. Ribs, Tri-tip, Chicken and my favorite, Salmon have all come out perfect! The trick is keeping the coals hot throughout the duration of cooking time calculated. 4 racks of Ribs (6 hours), the rest half that time. I've had a total of 6 of these (sometimes using 2 at once) throughout my 17 years of smoking. Enjoy! BDM

This is the charcoal grill I have been searching for at a great price. It is small enough for economical everyday use and rustproof. Extremely high and low heat are both easy to achieve. I just hose out the ashes the next day and am good to go. This unit is heavy and may not travel well. You can broil steaks in a half hour and still do hotdogs in two or three hours with one load of charcoal.

This Solaire grill cooks by an infrared propane burner box. It creates unbeleivably high temperatures which we really appreciate because my family likes its steaks charred on the outside and mediuim rare on the inside. It also only takes 5 minutes to reach high cooking temperatures and the stainless steel cooking grates clean themselves by leaving the grill on for 5 minutes after you are done cooking. It is great for grilling burgers, fish, shrimp etc. It is necessary to monitor your cooking more carefully because it cooks so fast. Excess fat should be trimmed from meats to avoid flare ups. While the temperature of the grill is somewhat adjustable, it is not suitable for foods requiring lower temperatures for a longer period of time such as whole chicken breasts or ribs. We use a large Weber natural gas grill for such foods. We also tried the natural gas conversion kit that is available but I would advise against it because the heat output is significantly reduced using lower energy content natural gas.

We have used this grill on average of at least twice a week for the last three years regardless of season and it has never failed to perform. We rely on it so much that I bought another one we keep stored unused in the house just in case something were to happen to the one we use so heavily. Because we use the grill so much, we operate it with a 20 lb. propane tank using the optional converter hose and fittings. The grill is very efficient with fuel and will also work well with small propane canisters.
The grill has a relatively small cooking area so large quantities of food cannot be cooked at once. It is perfect for two or three steaks or burgers at one time. However, if you need to cook more that that, the grill cooks so fast that two batches can be cooked on the Solaire grill in less time than it would take to cook one batch on a normal propane grill.
In summary, even though this grill is expensive for its size, we believe it is worth every penny in performance, build quality and time savings. I would recommend shopping the Net to see if you can obtain a better price. We bought both grills for less than $300.

I bought mine from Costco for under $100.00. While I was standing there trying to decide a guy walked by and said "I bought one for my RV, it gets very hot, very fast." So I bought it and it does get very very hot, very very fast. I love it. I can cook 2 very thick steaks in about 15 minutes (keep the lid closed). Be sure to wrap the parts in foil before you cook because its a pain to keep clean.

The grill is not a wonder of solid construction. It is not ceramic- the metal bits are cheapish. The trip on it is some kind of plastic staped into it. But my main gripe is that the grill top surface is not attached in any way, just kind of floats there. So, if you are trying to flip something it can push around the grill surface and knock it off the grill -not the ideal situation with a hot metal surface.
It's OK for what it is...price is probably a bit high for the construction.

All in all these gloves are great. I like having use of my fingers, which you don't get with mits. But sometimes heat does get through eventually.
They're perfect for lifting a pan out of the oven, reaching into the oven, or carrying hot objects to and from the oven and the table.
Not good for holding hot objects for a prolonged period of time.
The longer cuff is a nice feature, I haven't gotten burned yet.

We've had this Grill Tray for 5 years and it is one of the most used dishes in our kitchen. We received it as a wedding gift and its simple utilitarian design became an instant go-to cookware and serving tray. They should build tanks out of this stuff because it is extremely durable. If you are looking for an attractive serving dish that you can cook on, look no further.
