(More customer reviews)This is one of the most innovative, amazing barbecue inventions in some time. The "old" skewers that everyone used, metal or wood, were hard to fit on the grill with the hot dogs, hamburgers and steaks. These flexible skewers are just that . . . flexible. If you find you are running out of space there always seems to be just enough to fit these in. These are stainless steel, won't rust, and are easy to pick up . . . no burnt fingers or wooden skewers falling apart when they start to burn.
One other plus is when you want to marinate. With the other straight skewers your meats and veggies had to be marinated separately and were a royal pain to put on the skewer with all the juices dribbling on the counter or in your hands. With these you fill your skewer and they just curl up in a bag or bowl. Next stop is the grill. No fuss, no muss. I'd recommend getting the package of six . . . if you do the math, the larger quantity is less expensive. If you have a long weekend or a large crowd, you'll be able to make shish kebobs ahead of time and just pull them from the fridge.
Here's a little marinade recipe for you to enjoy:
1/4 cup white OR brown sugar
½ cup soy sauce
1/3 cup canola oil
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
2 crushed garlic cloves
Dash ground ginger
This recipe is especially tasty with chicken chunks!
